As a 74-year-old grandmother, I've lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of sharing. My world revolves around my precious grandchildren, who bring endless love and happiness into my life. I also cherish my time spent as a dedicated volunteer with LBLA, where I've had the opportunity to share the love of reading with young minds.
Books have always been my sanctuary, a place where I can escape into a magical realm of words and imagination. From childhood classics to contemporary novels, I've lost myself in countless stories that have shaped who I am today. The act of reading is not just a hobby for me, but a profound expression of my inner world.
LBLA has provided me with an incredible platform to share my passion for reading with others. As a volunteer, I have the privilege of visiting local schools and libraries, where I engage children in the wonder of literature. I read captivating stories, spark their imaginations, and help them discover the joy of getting lost in a good book.
Beyond the walls of the classroom, I also volunteer with LBLA's hospital visitation program. Together with my loyal therapy dog, we bring smiles to the faces of sick children. Reading to them offers a comforting escape from their medical journeys, providing a moment of joy and distraction. It fills my heart to see how the power of words can uplift and empower even the most vulnerable among us.
As I reflect on my experiences with LBLA, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
